Will you give in before endlessness, Seeker, or is infinity just a step away?
This tale -- known as “Zeno’s Tortoise paradox” -- seems logically sound but defies our intuition. This time however, it is our intuition that prevails: Of course Achilles will eventually overtake the tortoise so long as he continues running. In her argument, Zeno’s tortoise splits the distance between Achilles and herself into infinitely many segments to make sure that Achilles can never reach her. However, while there are indeed an infinite number of segments for Achilles to run past, they still only cover a finite stretch overall. A paradox that once again, reveals the unintuitive nature of infinity.
